Whatever. If it came to this then standalone HDDVD players would be like $50.

I'm on the fence on selling it. There are movies that will probably never see release on BR such as Heroes season 1.

Majority of the HD DVDs that I have are HD DVD/DVD combo so I can play them on the PS3.

    What to do....what to do!

get rid of the hd-dvd player, paramount is going to jump ship, and universal is just trying to find a PR clean way to jump ship as well (after being so incredibly anti-blu-ray this whole time)

Heroes S1 not on blu-ray? I believe itll be one of universals first moves to be quite honest.

Why would that or any other show/movie not come out on the new standard format? That's like saying that something that was on betmax woudln't come out on VHS, and everything came out on VHS.

Dont know. Thought maybe it was on a contract that prevented from studios producing the content on a different format.

universal has never been contractually bound to HD-DVD. Theyve just been on that side.

Seriously. It's not like HD-DVDs are inferior in any way. In fact some multi format releases have extra features on the HD-DVD version. I can't wait to start seeing titles clearenced out so I can grab 'em up cheap

And my PS3 isn't going anywhere so I can watch all the BR movies I want too.
