  1. I'd say I'd rate the importance of positions like this

    LT
    CB
    QB
    RG
    RB
    NT
    MLB

I would guess that how I would draft my team if the NFL was starting from scratch, but that's just me.

I think hockey is pretty well a team sport as well, but I'm only a Red Wings Front runner when I lived in Michigan to be honest.

    Your fantasy football full?

  2. The best thing Marino ever did was Ace Ventura!

I think that's still too high for a QB, but that's pretty close to how I would do it.

The one difference with hockey is that a goalie who is out of his mind that night can win a game by himself.

Yeah. 14 teams, which is a huge league.

  4. I'm in a 14 banger with buddies (beer league) and a 10 banger for my money league.

You can say that on just about every QB. No QB is going to win with a crappy defense or bad OL. The way I see it is, when the team is down and needs a score, who would you rather have? (actually, the answer to that should be Elway hehe)

    Montana, all day every day.

So a great QB is defined by being behind in the 4th? That's the problem with this argument. How many times did Aikman even have the opportunity for a 4th quarter comeback in the playoffs? The '94 NFC Championship game saw him throw for 400 yards, after they imploded in the first 10 minutes. However, they got so far behind that it wasn't enough. Deion Sanders tackling Michael Irvin in the 4th with no PI call sealed the deal.

I like Aikman, solid QB but by your argument, he has one of the best TEs, one of the best RB, one of the best WRs and a damn good defense to boot. So how good is he really?

  9. On another front, this is Gandolf's most successful topic, congrats funny guy.

Tough to say. If what you say is true though, why aren't Novacek and Irvin in the Hall of Fame? Remember that the NFL rules explicitly say that the Hall of Fame should be based on on-the-field performance only.
