Good move, even the free games you get from Sega suck, like Sonic Riders.

  2. and we put in the best software title, which should have a 65-70% gross margin
    That's a nice fucking margin.

Great job, Melf. You have what has become a top-notch, comprehensive, authoritative site.

It must be an age thing as I'm sure everyone here remembers the Saturn and Dreamcast even though they had shorter lifespans than the SMS here.
I remember seeing SMS games for rent at Blockbuster around 89-90. It was on a small endcap, much like what Blockbuster did with the DC and Saturn.

  4. Wow...very cool Melf. Interview brings me back to a simpler and exciting time. Sega!

It's kind of sad (but awesome for melf) just how much that interview shits all over modern day game mags.

Not trying to kiss his ass or anything (Melf and I have certainly had our disagreements), but his site is easily one of the best gaming sites on the web. For years I tried to force myself to make a website, and I always got bored, Melf makes one that is about his passion and its awesome. Im working on one that will hopefully be good, and I gotta say I looked at what he did with his for inspiration.

  7. I finally got hom eand read the interview. Melf you are a great interviewer. That was one great read. Great job bro.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  8. Definitely an awesome interview. Linked you on the front page of the newly-revived IGN Dreamcast.

    Thanks man, I appreciate that.

MarkRyan: Thanks a bunch! I see that Gamasutra has also mentioned it. My traffic for today has more than doubled. Hopefully those new readers will stick around.

  10. Damn fine interview. I'm interested in what Kalinske thinks of the industry today, and what he'd do different.
