  1. Otoo Keigou! Gunpey Rebirth - Mizuguchi's new DS puzzler

Apparently, puzzle games are all Q Entertainment can do. Looks like it has something to do with lining up sticks and crack-cocaine.

Meteos was awesome. Lumines was awesome. Every Extend was awesome, and Mizuguchi's remake can only be more awesome, statistically. That being said, high hopes are rattling around in my head over this.

  2. i played the original WonderSwan Gunpey back in high school, and i honestly didn't like it too much at the time. actually, i think i told my friend (who was the only person in the entire school that owned the WS; everyone else owned the NGPC) that it was the absolute stupidest puzzle game ever. that might've been more because i didn't know what the hell i was doing, though, but even after watching him play i still didn't think it was all that great.

while i can't say that i'm super excited, i'll probably give Gunpey R on the PSP a try. the music should be good, and it's at least more visually appealing than the first. and maybe the game won't be as bad as i originally thought it was, too.

  3. Yeah, that's weird. Back in high school i didn't know anyone with a Game Boy besides like one other guy with the brick.

i went to school in the city so nothing was really out of reach. and it was a big chain reaction, too. i got one first, then a couple of my friends, then some of their friends, and so on, and so on. we had KOF: R2 tournaments everyday during lunch and occasionally at Lincoln Center. then it turned to MotM (which was when the "scene" got really big), and then whatever else that was coming out (Magical Drop Pocket ftw). good times.

  5. I'm very jealous. I was in college by the time i caught on anyway, but even then i knew very few people who had the NGPC.

  6. I want to try that Judgement Silversword game on WonderSwan. Is there emulation?

I was the only one that had a NGPC... I used to play NeoCup '98 like a fiend. Awesome game.

I couldn't get into NeoCup... but Neo Turfmasters was incredible.

Aye. I was in college @ the time and only knew about 2 other people who had NGPCs. We used to play Card Fighters and MotM quite a bit.
You don't have to be smart; you don't have to know the facts, you just have to be confident.

  9. No matter how pretty the PSP version is, if the touchscreen implementation is solid then the DS version wins. Meteos and Zookeeper have spoiled me for puzzle games.

Every Extend and now Gunpey. Interesting how Q? is taking other people's games and re-doing them. What next, the Kenta Cho Collection?
