The seriel number on the bottom of your console. Then you'll have to google it or something.
The ps2 I had this on had the built in sensor thingie for the remote and came with a network adapter.

Yes, before the slim model.
Jeremy, yes it can play "preview code" and such. There are some exceptions and I know there is a list out there of incompatible games. I also found the breaker pro, allows you to play ps1 games. I'll throw that in too.
I'd get it from you since I've always wanted one, but somehow I doubt that my launch PS2 is a version 9.
