Thread: Gamecube emulation is getting pretty quick

  1. Gamecube emulation is getting pretty quick

If you have a 64-bit CPU and OS, you can try out the latest version of Dolphin.

In any case, Dolphin in 64-bit dual core mode now also does 25-30 fps in Wind Waker on some Core 2 Duo monster machines.. 13-15 on my 3800+ X2.
Of course, it's high level emulation, so the games can natively draw at way higher resolutions.

Wonder if we'll see Wii emulation in a few years. This is pretty awesome; I wouldn't mind playing RE4 looking like this a few years down the line.

Any word on AMD dual core performance?

  4. Hrm, and I just bought a core 2 duo.

  5. wow! That looks amazing! I have an AMD dual core cpu (Opteron 165 which I think is somewhat comparable to a X2 3800) but not a 64bit OS.

I hope they put in support for 32bit XP and with some folks creating Wiimote drivers for Windows it looks like Wii emulation could be a reality in a few years. Really fantastic stuff there.

  6. PS2 emulation has sped up a lot lately, too, to where it gets full frames on good rigs.

  7. I never even thought of that. Is Chankast the only DC emu still?

Slightly off topic question... is there an easy/cheap way to go from XP 32-bit to XP 64-bit?

  9. lol internets.

I'm in the same boat, however I dont know if I wanna switch all my shit over from 32 to 64 just for Gamecube.
