There'd better be a Dark Knight Returns adaptation, made in the same style as Miller's other GN movies.

Wow, awesome. I thought I was the only one that hated Sin City. It made for a good trailer, but seriously the most terrible movie I've seen since I can remember. Green screen = sucks except for in Wing Commander 3 and Under a Killing Moon. Using a comic book as the basic script and story boards for a movie = terrible.300 looks better, I admit.

I think the Tim Burton Batman's are still the best too. Begins was pretty good, but all the recent superhero movies piss me off. They just kind of go through and hit all the marks, like a checklist. It's like they're not even real original movies. I say screw the over-excited fans and screw being religiously faithful to the source material. Just make a good movie.

  5. I'm really tired of the reception Burton and Nolan get on the Internet.. they're both fine directors at when it comes to their specialty. I don't feel Burton deserves the backlash he's received, and Nolan (with only 5 movies) gets way more praise than he's worth.

I feel the exact same way.. I think that's what bothers me the most about Begins, and why I haven't watched that movie as much as Batman '89. Begins feels at times like authenticy was their only goal in the movie, instead of creating characters you could empathize with, or setting up an entertaining plot and action sequence.

I think Casino Royale outclassed Begins in attempting to do the same thing--it followed the source material closely, except with infinitely more interesting characters and a hell of a lot better action.

Begins borrowed a fair bit from Miller's "Batman: Year One", incidentally.

The first Batman was amazing. Batman Returns was a huge pile of rancid feces.

He sorta does. He's made some great movies but he's made a lot of real super-assy ones as well. Overall, I'm not a fan of his.

Movies like Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow and Ed Wood make up for duds like Batman Returns and Planet of the Apes. I just think the hate towards Burton is too strong at times, but he definitely has his stable of disappointments.

Anyway.. spoilerish, but awfully vague, script excepts from TDK..

Only definite conclusion I can draw from the excepts is the reason why Batman changes his outfit.

Sin City may be the worst movie I've ever seen.

Then you haven't seen very many bad movies.
