Sounds hot.
Got any pics or sound clips?
Also: I'm selling my fretless j-bass. Do any of you want? I'd love it if someone I "know" got my bass.

I used it on some Gunwife Gone recordings. I probably can't post those though, I think they're still selling them.
Its a black Fender J-bass with a white pickguard. They all look pretty much the same, and mine looks pretty much like all of them. I'll get all detailed about it if you want to buy this thing. I got it in Canada a few years ago.
Ah, I was hoping it was a light blue one.
Still sounds sweet though, I'd bet.
I fucking love J Basses, most comfortable neck in the world. My next bass will definitely be one.
GET OVER IT
Thanks for the replies guys. Like I said, I'm pretty new to the world of basses, so I'll fuck around and see what I can come up with. The reason I want a high C string instead of a low B is because in my limited experience jamming with friends, I've found that the low E is nearly inaudible when a lot of other instruments are playing (this could be because of the very shitty amp I'm using) but there are many times I wish I could go higher than the 4 strings allowed me. Also, that way it doesn't fuck up the "home bass" feeling of the E string. I was worried about the tension in the neck like you guys mentioned, but hell I only spent $180 on this thing.
Also, I will give the C--F#--C--F# tuning a try with the shitty squier bass I have sitting around for shits and giggles. Out of curiosity, would the "fattest" string be tuned to the C, or would the "thinnest" string be the C? (I don't know if you list them highest to lowest, or vice versa) If it's C on the fattest string, then that thing will be flopping around all over the place. I didn't have any idea there were so many bass players on TNL![]()

YOu go low to highest when talking about it. Or you can just say, Low __. SO my guitar has something like a low A or C depending on how frisky I'm feeling. But I use a Bass G string for it.
Also: It's because of the very shitty amp you're using. Save a couple hundred and buy a proper amp off craigslist. It doesn't have to be some VINTAGE AMPEG!!! or anything. Personally I'd look into old Acoustic Control stuff. The 360 and 370 are particularly worth your time and can be had for +/- $200.
Boo, Hiss.
Yeah, you have an entire frequency range waiting for you to fill it. That low E can cut through like nothing if you have a half decent amp.
