Oh jesus, I just remembered that that Aviator Guitars place that had all those epic vintage speakers hanging from pegs on the walls is now defunct
*edit* Also I have decided to sell my Epi Les Paul. I rest my right forearm on the body alot and with an SG it's totally comfortable. But the sharper edge of the LP bugs the crap outta me. Now I have to decide if I want to save up for a Gibson SG Classic (P90's!) or get a higher end Epiphone Sg to fool around with pickups It'll probably be cheap but nice Epi first and a Classic later on down the road.

I ended up finding those Beta series 15's for $43 a piece and couldn't pass it up.
300 watts at 8ohms.
Now as soon as someone buys my PSP I can grab the Acoustic B200H I've been eyeing.

Boo, Hiss.
A wise trade imo
Indeed.
Speaking of speakers, I decided to pull the sweet 30 year old Celestion silvers out of that Legend amp (the gay wicker front one with the SS power section) and holy fuck I can't even believe the dustberg on the edge of the one. This pic was taken several minutes after I started trying to clean it up. So gross.

I opened up my b25 cab to find a similar display of filth. I promptly closed the cabinet back up, and I won't ever open it again.
I'm trying to figure out a good way to clean the things with hurting them. I even posted a question at the megabrainiac forum full of sixty year old amp techs.
*edit* LOL, the first reply was "Just install them and turn your amp up to 11." I wonder what he thinks I was doing before I pulled the things out of their original home?

Apparently he thought you were playing like a sissy. Maybe he knows you better than you know yourself?
guitar speakers are funny things. From a scientific stand point, they are ass quality. They are very flawed beast that do not reproduce the full audio spectrum.
To make things even more delightful, the signature British sound of the Celestion comes in part from a screw up in the speaker design that was not found until decades later.
In short, there might not be a "best" way to clean the speaker. The important thing is to not damage it.
Rock that bitch.
but I'll ask around if I go down to Meridian this weekend.
Oh, while I'm thinking about it, Pacrappa, you can fix small tears in a speaker with weldwood from lowes.
