This was when we played with Pentagram at El Corazon. That Crown power amp is Oni's backup. I'm not sure where the SVT head is but he definitely used it that night.
That is a fantastic amplifier and also happens to be one that reinforces my take on combo amps often being a bigger hassle than 100 watt heads and 4x12 cabs. Even with the cheapy Carvin speakers that are in it right now that mother fucker is THE WIDOWMAKER. Good luck walking more than three steps carrying that if your name isn't Magnus Samuelsson. You're going to need a friend but since there's only one handle on top of thing it's still a major hassle. It's heavier than any 4x12 (except maybe an Orange?) and far more unwieldy.
Arjue there are two and both are SWR Goliath Jr with the tweeter disconnected. We stack them vertically on top of each other and Oni puts his SVT on the floor. I'll see if I can find a stage shot that shows the whole schmeal.
LOL, they are now!!! To break it down I own the Marshall Studio 15, the two Soldanos, the Peavey, the Lab Series and all of the 4x12s. Shakey owns the JCM800 and the Bassman 100. The B25b and the Bassman Ten are owned by some dude called 'Icepick' and Steve, our drummer and owner of Big Sound Productions owns whatever I didn't mention here. We're pretty lucky to have all this stuff at our disposal!

My bad, I guess it was a different picture in which you could see Oni's backup.
You guys don't fuck around!
Well of course not!
I kinda want but don't really need Fender basses with which to test pedals. I saw this one at the main pawn shop I frequent and I just couldn't get it out of my head. I decided I'd ask about the layaway policy since I'd never put anything on layaway in 20 years of shopping and pawning there. The dude said I could put whatever I wanted down and then take up to six months paying it off so fuck it. Blue bass coming my way.
Way sweet.
Nice! My next bass will definitely be a J bass of some sort. I've never played a bass which feels as good to play.
I hear ya. The way the neck is all skinny up there at the first frets is just a joy. I can't wait to get this thing home and SHRED. I've had a Cort P clone before (dude who used to post here called Boomsta, Kaneda's buddy has it now) and I still have that old Gibson EB-0 that I've had since '03ish but these days I just love a Jazzy neck.
That camouflage ESP Viper is so good I've been thinking of selling the Ibanez Artist and Yamaha SG. They're both fantastic guitars but I tweaked my back all bad back in the jiu jistu days and those guitars just get right on it and it can be a real drag if I play all day or if we drive real far and then play a show. The Ibanez is as heavy as any Les Paul and that fucking Yamaha is as heavy as two Les Pauls. The Viper is more resonant and has a more comfortable neck than either and is about the same weight as a Gibson SG. I'm really loving it like crazy and I could sell both of those vintage beauties, buy another Viper for backup (probably a cheaper LTD 400 or something) and have a pile of dough left over to get rad with. In a perfect world I would keep every guitar and amp I ever came across but this is not a perfect world and I haven't really touched either of those axes since getting the Viper.
I contemplate getting rid of guitars sometimes, but then I remember how many guitars I end up using when recording things. I need to ditch some amps though.
I just feel like unless it's hollow vs solid the real difference (to me!) will be pickups. I need lots of different types of pickups for testing pedals but I don't need a half a dozen guitars with humbuckers sitting around gathering dust. As it stands I have four axes with humbuckers, another Viper with P90s, a strat and what is pretty much a Tele on the way. I really think for band use I just need one guitar with humbuckers and then a backup for busted strings or other unforeseen technical difficulties, so two. Obviously all humbuckers aren't created equal but they're sure alot closer to each other than humbucker vs strat style single coils or whatever else. For pedal purposes I'd really like a real P Bass and a Ric too. Then I'd have all the major basses covered and an oddball (EB-0) for good measure. All of this is more for pedals than for playing live or recording although those would some sweet french benefits.
