I prefer stolen cables from various shows. Usually in a '98-'00 vintage.

I have a Monster Cable, but I haven't used it in a couple of years because it started getting all crackly and losing the signal after a few weeks of use in addition to messing up the insides of the instrument jack on one of my basses by somehow "stretching it out" to the point that thinner cables no longer work properly when connected.

Seriously though, it's all just a bunch of marketing and sales bullshit. Like cheeks said the only thing you need to worry about with a guitar cable is that it's shielded, and you'd have a hard time finding one these days that isn't.
