I think stories like this shows that we sometimes have a little 'too' much respect for our soldiers. They're still human, and yet we tend to act at times like they're living saints. A recruiter once approached me in a fucking Taco Bell while I was ordering and wouldn't go away. The only way to get him to back off was telling him I had a job. Taco Bell must == white trash symbolism to the army or some shit

or drug dealers. i don't know how many times i've had a recruiter call my house and keep pushing it on me like i needed a fix.

and these guys call at the worst times possible and just keep yammering on no matter how many times you tell them that you're not interested. they're also pricks, too. not all, but most of the ones that've called were. one guy even went off on me because, i guess, i said something to the effect of how the only way i'd join was if it were my last resort. he really got offended and started yelling about how the military should never be a last resort, and that even if it were, they would never in a million years take me. then he hung up on me right as i was about to say something back. that must've been a couple years back, but i haven't had another call since.
