Thread: Jesus Camp

  1. Jesus Camp

A growing number of Evangelical Christians believe there is a revival underway in America that requires Christian youth to assume leadership roles in advocating the causes of their religious movement.

  2. Poor kids. Brainwash them before they ever get a chance to think for themselves.

  3. Honestly reminds me of the footage from the Hitler Youth camps; a bunch of smiling, happy white children doing things in unison.

Unlike the rest of America's brain-dead youth.

I think everyone's just hating on churches because they actually get results.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  5. The Hitler Youth got results to.

  6. I read a story in the New Yorker last year about one of these christian college law schools training these people. They easily defeated Oxford in a debate competition.

Let's be real here, while the kids of progressive yuppie parents are smoking pot and fucking for four years, the kids of Christian nutjobs are studying 24/7, getting internships from Republican politicians, and training to set policy the first minute they can.

They aren't going away anytime soon.

  7. You notice how the woman in the film compares these camps to the madrassas in Palestine. Doesn't that set off alarms with anyone else?

I mean, the kid even says "We're being trained to be God's Army"

  8. I don't see your point. Would you prefer these camps just be outright banned from america?

I'm so glad those who are not religious have open minds and accept people. They never jump to conclusions.

Did you watch the trailer? Do you know anything about this movement and Christian Exodus or Focus on the Family and groups like that? Do you know anything other than how to ask ridiculous and distracting strawman questions?

What right do we have to tell the Muslim religious community to ban their indoctrination camps filled with fanatics preaching fiery rhetoric when we condone the same thing here in America? Certainly, the people have ever right to operate these camps and the children have every right to attend them with their parent's conscent. However, that doesn't mean what's being taught there is true, or that drafting kids into their hardline movement is right.

Snarky comments aside, look at the trailer. It's some pretty scary stuff.
