Thread: Pyongyang: Children's palace

  1. Pyongyang: Children's palace

Welcome to North Korea's finest arcade hall! Looks like NES units, no? Can anyone identify the console or the games?

Knowing that North Korea doesn't allow outside media makes me wonder if someone programmed a 'people's game' where you get to kill Americans or something.

  2. First pic is a red X, second is too far back to tell anything. Yeah, they look like NES, but are probably Hong Kong knock-offs playing Hong Kong knock-off games. LOL, perhaps even given to them by the PRC as some sort of 'cultural exchange'.
    Time for a change

  3. North Korea still blows my mind. Poor kids.

  4. gOzen. Fixed the link. The pic is a bit blurry, but I reckon they are NES clones as well.

  5. I see Ice Climbers.
    Donk

  6. Yup, that seems right.

  7. Actually, that's not Ice Climber, it's Oppression Climber. Each level represents the different levels of oppression the West has forced upon North Korea, and the goal is to break through that oppression and reach the top, where the evils of Capitalism and Western thinking can't reach you.

It's either that, or Skate or Die 2. North Korean children sadly only have two gaming options. (They used to also have Burger Time, but when people in North Korea saw that the West has so much food that they happily walk all over some of it instead of eating it, it got too depressing.)

No need to feel sad, Skate or Die 2 is one of the brightest moments in gaming history.

  10. I just got done watching this.

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&q=north+korea

It was a discovery channel documentary from a couple of years ago.

Its very disturbing. It shows how most children live inside the country.
