Thread: PS3 pre-orders

The ones that are really losing money are the retailers. Sony can't
really markup the ps3 too much because people would give them more guff than they already are for $600. Stores like EB and GS and even TRU and Target should all mark them up like 200 over MSRP and pocket the cash themselves.

  4. How are you cheating people? You put it up and let them fight for it. That's capitalism, buddy. You want the goods you gotta pay.

Hello, welcome to the entire reason the products are on the marketplace in the first place. This is followed by how the entire reason there's a shortage is because of the product being pushed out for people to purchase at Christmas.

Nobody's cheating anyone. This isn't some sustained multi-year markup like Radiant Silvergun. It'll last for a month, maybe until Christmas, and then things will drop down into standard pricing. Do you know why the prices go up? Because someone bids on it and then someone else places a higher bid. Repeat.

Besides, it's not like there's enough to go around in the first place.

Just like no one was cheating anyone when after hurricane Andrew people were selling $500 generators for $5000 each.

Sure you don't have to buy a PS3 on Ebay, but these opportunistic leaches are going to make it hard for honest people to get a new system this year.
