I have my ticket in hand for the philly show but I'm going to germany the week of the show.
It doesn't help AT ALL that a Baroness show, a Cave In show and the NYC/Baltimore Shrinebuilder shows are that week too...

No, Jupiter was great. Antenna and Perfect Pitch Black are garbage.

I'm not in for reunion type shows/albums. The magic and relevance is gone. Take Coalesce; everyone was super excited for Ox, then it came out and it's pretty piss-poor. The music isn't very interesting anymore without any of the context of the late 90's hardcore scene. If they released Give Them Rope or Until... now, they wouldn't be all that special. They're amazing albums, but only because you were there at the time and no one had ever heard anything like that.

Ox is amazing, you are out of your god damn mind. And your justification for not liking it sounds like preachy horseshit. YOU HAD TO BE THERE MAN. IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME.
Not to mention that the vast majority of post coalesce-converge-botch metalcore is complete garbage, so I don't even know what your point is.

As for Perfect Pitch Black, it was fine for what it was; a album of b-sides from a band in a very shaky transitional phase. And their new EP shows that they came out of that phase and found out how to be a real band again, because it's really good.

Then Ox came along and blew everyones mind but yours and the only reason you can come up with is that it's not the same because the hardcore has moved on? Moved on to what exactly? Being fucking awful?
