Microsoft Will Win Xmas - Kent

Author and gaming historian Steven Kent (right) believes Microsoft will have an easy time winning the console battle this holiday season. He also has some interesting comments regarding the success/failure of Nintendo and Sony going forward.

Except that there will be more than 2 million Wii's in the US alone before Christmas. And supposedly PS3's as well, but let's see how that pans out.

Kent's a smart guy, and his predictions are pretty solid. He doesn't really say "Company X" is going to win, just that MS is going to be off to a huge lead after this Christmas. I also agree with his assessment of the Wii.

except he states nintendos only going to have a few hundred thousand to sell and Nintendo is supposed to have a few million by christmas thats a big difference in numbers

I dont know what sony is looking to make following that but Nintendo is said to have a few million more out by march of 2007

I agree with Kent. He isn't saying anything earth-shattering. Nintendo could do well or the latest controller could go the way of Rob the Robot or Virtual Boy. Its all in the games. I know I'm not going to blindly buy one at launch, though.

Microsoft has Gears of War coming. That alone puts them ahead.
