Season 5 is the best. People have selective memory regarding season 1 (Teri has amnesia, Kim is lost, Palmer's daughter was raped, Alberta comes in just to make CTU drama... all dumb and lead nowhere).

season 2 was the best because they blew ctu up within the first ten hours

Which in the long run didn't do anything except kill Sara Gilbert and give the producers a reason to make CTU look dark and ugly.

Just finished re-running season 5 on DVD. Still my favorite show that television has made, ever. Can't wait for Nov 23rd and the 2 hour movie to bridge seasons 6 and 7.
I've been reading a lot of Lee Child's novels recently, where the main character is Jack Reacher, and he reminds me a lot of Jack Bauer.
Not surprisingly they are fantastic books.
