Certainly not my favorite game, but nothing else from October interests me.
Wow. And here I thought it was one of the best months for gaming in a good while.

    Just going down the list:
    • Splinter Cell -- Only Splinter Cell I've played completely is Pandora Tomorrow and it left a bad taste in my mouth. It is truly a miserable game (single player, at least).
    • Marvel: Ultimate Alliance -- Blech, dungeon hack-n-slash.
    • Mortal Kombat: Armageddon -- I played Deadly Alliance and Deception, both of which are pretty awful.
    • Bully -- I haven't really liked anything from Rockstar ever :/
    • God Hand -- A very budget game that shows it--but the combat's honestly good and satisfying.
    • Tales of the Abyss -- :/ to RPGs
    • Battlefield 2142 -- I really, really, really don't like playing games on PC. And this game honestly doesn't look that good anyway.
    • Dark Messiah -- Your description of the game makes it sound interesting, but again I really hate gaming on PC.
    • Phantasy Star Universe -- Possibly the last game I'd want to play on this list.
    • Sam & Max -- Since it's on PC I'll never play it.

I meant moreso that, playing the same tired crap like Splinter Cell when a newer good game like God Hand that isn't a series based off a non-existant book with a name of an Author no one really likes, while I can see not being as good as Splinter Cell, you rant about anyone who liking it retarded (Moreso bVork, but you agreed with his sentiment) is what I mean by your head being up your ass.

And yeah, PSU doesn't appeal at all.

  4. "Dark Messiah wraps a dull story around repetitive combat. It's not a bad game, but its technical glitches really bring it down."
gamespots's summary of the game. Sure, its one review, but it doesnt sound promising.

  5. You know, November won't be about FFXII. It's going to be all about Guitar Hero 2.

  6. Comparing Music games to anything seems stupid, because they're well beyond the traditional game.

The dull story thing is true (though no more so than every other medieval fantasy RPG). I haven't seen the glitches, but I doubt they would make them up. But the repetitive combat thing is the biggest lie ever perpetrated in gaming journalism. The combat is really, really flexible and the AI is hoot to fight. It's less repetitive than any first person action game ever before it, let alone any RPG. It's a downright loony thing to claim.

In a given situation there's always like 20 ways to take an enemy out. You could throw a crate at a shelf support and knock it out to send barrels spilling down on him, you could sneak up behind him and stab him in the back. You could freeze him. You could throw an oil jar at him and shoot a flaming arrow to light him up, you could kick him down the stairs, you could use your bow and snipe him, you could throw a rock at his head and knock him into some spikes...

    Yeah, real repetitive.

If by beyond you mean more enjoyable, then yes I agree with you. Also, it's a game just like the others. I have to pop it in the PS2 to enjoy it.

    1. It's the best beat 'em up ever made. The true successor to Final Fight.
    2. You're not going to find it for $10. Capcom pressed like six copies.

I can only assume that people chosing other games over God Hand just haven't played God Hand, or don't like beat 'em ups in general. I'm almost at the final area, and not once has it felt boring or repetitive, and despite the high difficulty, it's very rarely frustrating. It does have a few flaws, but for what it gives, they're easy to overlook.

    a) The game has nothing to do with TC other than it has its name on it. The funny thing is I was just thinking the other day how more people my age probably know of Clancy as that guy that's on video games rather than the author.

a2) God Hand's premise is a lot more forgettable than SC's. God Hand is VERY generic. Hell, the first level looks straight from an Outlaws user map done by a 7 year old.

    b) Even if it did have something to do with him, that's irrelevant to how good a game is.

    c) SC is very much unlike the other games in the series.

c2) It has a lot less in common with games of its ilk than God Hand does with beat-em-ups.

    d) God Hand just isn't that good.

    e) Markryan may have the worst taste in games ever. I mean the WORST. You know those people who snag a copy of True Crime at launch? Worse than that. People like him are the reason why Gran Turismo has stayed in the Dark Ages.
