TNL Movie Club: Wonder Boys

Grady Tripp (Douglas) is a professor/writer living in Pittsburgh who is struggling with writer's block. Whilst doing this, he also manages to get the chancellor (McDormand) pregnant. In the meantime, he and a college student, James Leer (Maguire) are trying to find a rare jacket once owned by Marilyn Monroe, and a college girl, Hannah Green (Holmes) boarding with Grady has a bit of a crush on him. Based on the book of the same name by Michael Chabon.

This is one of my favorite books. Curtis Hanson made a great movie out of it back in 2000. It shares a lot in common with American Beauty and Sideways, but I like it better than both. When it came out it was overshadowed by other movies, most of which I can't remember. I've been meaning to watch it again.

This is like, the 5th DVD i ever owned. Its a pretty great movie, haven't seen it in a long time thouh. I might watch it again later this week.

I thought this film was interesting. The last third of the film was kinda crazy. In a good way though.

This is a GREAT movie. Everybody should watch this one. Seeing this thread just reminds me that I need to buy this movie on DVD.

Really good movie, amazing cast. Katie Holmes is so damn good looking, it's irritating knowing that Tom Cruise had her soul sucked out of her.
