Thread: Quick Question

  1. Quick Question

A friend wanted me to fix her computer, so she gave it to me along with all of her install cds a few nights ago. She basically needs a clean install from booting up...problem is all it will do is jump to the Windows did not start probably screen (Where you can select safe mode, etc) and that's all it will do. What's a good way of bypassing this so I can get it to boot from the cd?

Boot into the bios, and go to the setting in the bios which determines the order of your boot devices, and select the CD/DVD drive as the first boot device.

  3. And if it hangs when doing a CD installation (which it can) you'll have to format the drive (with for example a Linux install disc) so you can then wipe that with the XP installation disc.
