I'll have this game in the next week or so.
Still pissed off that assholes won't get penalized for disconnecting. Though it use to be like that in Mario Kart but they fixed it.
Alright, let's get this going:

Considering so few people seem to ever be online, starting a small TNL league may be the way to go.

I added you Geen. I should be on tomorrow night sometime.
OK, I posted this in the BMan Land Touch thread but am posting it here too since this is regarding my issues with the game's wifi:
OK, I just played my first 4 player match in worldwide mode. It was slightly choppy but fast enough to be enjoyable and very playable. Best of all, nobody disconnected the whole time and at least two people stayed for the next match. I lost the first match, but the connection was good enough that it wasn't my fault, I was up against some skilled players. But the next match was in total "slideshow" mode. So slow that it was unplayable so I gave up.
It seems whoever programmed this game for wifi did a really sloppy job: when it's choppy the game sometimes "compensates" by littering the board with tons of shoe items so your character will walk faster. Where is this game being hosted anyways? It surely can't be on the same servers as the top tier DS wifi titles.
Then again I guess I wouldn't know how much a game's speed online depends on the server itself and also the wifi programming that went into it, maybe someone could enlighten me. I also posted a message about the game's lag on the official Nintendo WFC tech board in the blind hope that someone will care and this will be addressed. Nintendo seriously needs to do some quality control on their 3rd party wifi offerings.

Cool. I added you, Dylann! I should be around all day, so just shoot me an AIM message when you want to get a match going.
I was wondering about how hosting is done as well. Does the WFC just work as a match maker and then one person's DS is deemed the host? Does hosting responsibilities share between multiple DSes? It seems a bit confusing to me.Originally Posted by Dylann
The sad thing about this game is that when it works good, it usually works really good. When it works bad, it's usually really bad. What sucks is that Hudson has deemed this multiplayer WFC Bomberman -THE- version of WFC Bomberman that we'll ever see on the DS. Why they choose to do that is so fucking beyond me.
This is the only BMan on DS they want to make for wifi? At that rate i shudder to think what sort of "effort" they'd ever put into BMan on XBox Live arcade. btw, did you add me?What sucks is that Hudson has deemed this multiplayer WFC Bomberman -THE- version of WFC Bomberman that we'll ever see on the DS.
edit: I also wish someone in the homebrew community would make a great online freeware BMan game. An admin at a bomberman fan site was working on one several years ago. It looked great, was going to be online battle centered and the visuals were just like the 16 bit BMan games. Unfortunately it was never finished.![]()

The "Bomberman Battle Pack" is designed to go into all future Bomberman games, I'm assuming so everyone who plays a Bomberman game on the DS will be able to play against each other no matter the version. What sucks is that this battle mode is so stripped down and simple. If your going to make one version of battle mode, why wouldn't you make it the best Bomberman Battle Mode ever, or at the very least, as good as the original Bomberman DS Battle Mode but with Wifi play?
Yep.Originally Posted by Dylan1CC
I am amazed that this hasn't happened, to be honest. I'm sure there are a shit ton of Bomberman fans out there, why haven't any of them stepped up to the plate and done this? Maybe all us Bomberman fans just have no idea how to program for shit. :-POriginally Posted by Dylan1CC
Wish I was a programmer, I'd be making it right now or trying to find a way to hack my own Dreamcast BMan Online server ya know?
Cross version compatibility is actually a pretty good idea, too bad they're being lazy with the execution. The "Bomberman Battle Pack" is designed to go into all future Bomberman games, I'm assuming so everyone who plays a Bomberman game on the DS will be able to play against each other no matter the version.
I'll keep an eye out for ya on AIM (I see you're on mobile right now so I assume you are out of the house)
