Thread: TNL Movie Club - The Abyss

  1. TNL Movie Club - The Abyss

I had nearly forgotten about the Movie Club, and I had completely forgotten that I had signed up for a week. Never the less, this week's movie is.... The Abyss!

The Abyss is near the top of my list for All Time Favorite. At first, I wanted to pick out something a little more obscure for the movie club, but I decided to go with this one because of sheer admiration. The film was executed wonderfully and I cant say enough good things about it. If you happen to come across the Sepcial Edition, make sure to watch the deleted scenes at the end (its pretty awesome).

    Hope you guys enjoy!

  2. I've sat down to watch this a few times but I've always been interrupted by something and only catch a portion of it. I might pick it up this weekend.

  3. This one was pretty wild when it first came out. Cameron was on a roll at this point and the CG work was some cutting edge shit. Really cool premise, but it ranks lower on my favorite Cameron movies.

  4. Highly underated sci fi movie.
Dont be a robot, be human.

  5. I was nuts about this when it came to dvd, then pissed when the special edition hit.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

  6. I know I'm not part of your club, but this is one of the best movies ever. Just saying.
    Boo, Hiss.

  7. I remember the drowning scene as one of the most disturbing things ever. Of course, I saw it when I was pretty little, so maybe it's actually no big deal.
