I worked Microcenter for last year's Black Friday. It's nuts, but the TV's are high quality, own one myself. It's worth lining up, the rebates come relatively quick if you get everything squared away.

542i is the model number, not the resolution. I don't see an 8 anywhere though.
I'm having second thoughts. The 32" version has an ATI chipset that sucks at 480i and p, lots of ghosting at that res accordint to AVS forum. The 37" doesn't have that problem but has no built in tuners. The 42" is too big and expensive.
I bought a costco one for $599 already, 32" and also has a QAM tuner which Syntax doesn't. But that's a lot more for the same size tv with comperable features, and contrast ratio isn't as good.
