Thread: Official MMA Discussion Thread

  1. I'm pretty hyped for tomorrow's card even though I don't think Rampage has much of a chance against Hendo, but that's why they fight the fights.

I realize Spike is showing this at 8PM, but that's the replay, no? London's six hours ahead of us so I expected a 2PM PPV similar to the card headlined by Franklin/Okami a few months ago. I can't seem to confirm this so if anyone can chime in, it'd be appreciated.

it's 9pm EST. somebody (i believe it was sandy vag Kano) bitched at me before for not knowing that they tape the overseas ones and we see them at our normal hours, even thought they really already happened. so for us it's not a replay, but it's not live.

  3. Towlie made an appearance because of buzz talking crazy.

  4. "Dave Meltzer is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko is supposed to be coming to UFC tomorrow night in London after doing a seminar that day in France. If he's shown on camera and identified, he's likely in, at least in their minds, even if they don't actually say that. If he's not shown, no agreement has been made"

  5. oh and Couture will be in the straight to dvd prequel to the Scorpion King.

  6. Dreamcast

    Day One, imo.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that, too.

I know you can't elbow on the ground in Pride, but can you do them standing up? Or are elbows a total no-no?

  8. Houston Alexander just beat the shit out of Sakara in a minute. Excellent.

Edit - The crowd going absolutely nuts during the Bisping decision made it feel special, but the fight... not so much. The unification bout was okay, but I was disappointed that they didn't even have the PRIDE belt there, and made it seem more like a defense for Rampage than a unification bout.

  9. Holy FUCK at the bisping decision.

  10. sure it was boring as sin, but i have no fucking clue what match the judges were watching during the Hammil/Bisping fight. then Bisping has the balls to say

    "i out boxed him"
"he should go back to wrestling"

and a bunch of other pretty low brow shit. even before the match it was always Bisping talking about how Matt called him out and couldn't let TUF3 go but pretty much every soundbite of Bispings was about that, yet i don't recall more than one from Matt. his face looked like playdough yet he "outboxed" Matt? and the lowbrow "go back to wrestling" comment? i have no respect for trash like him.
