Final Fantasy XII, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of third person shooters. Gears of War is clearly a fantastic game and more power to everyone who enjoys it, but call me when Unreal Tournament 2007 comes out. First person is much, much more my speed for games like this.

And I place FFXII above Zelda because it actually makes an attempt to shake up the formula in a meaningful way, and succeeds.
