You could say the same for Pop music. Anyone with a casio keyboard and a bad song can make a hit, in today's music scene.

  2. Anyone who puts The Game, Chamillionaire, Young Jeezy, or Kanye West on their list invalidates anything else in there that might even be slightly decent.

At least nobody put the Ying Yang Twins or D4L.

    Talib Kweli
    Mos Def
    Common
    Nas
    Jay-Z
    Eminem
    Madvillain
    Outkast

ehh.. i can't bring myself to put stuff like Zion I, any of the Wu Tang Guys, Aesop Rock or Pharoah Monch on the list.

    That is all.

    Rhythm Sticks

  5. You guys are trying to hard to avoid mainstream rappers.

Chino XL is my super cool underground pick.

    Because they suck.

My list pretty much included every good mainstream rapper there is.

And I second Gift of Gab. Seeing him do Rhythm Sticks on stage was fucking amazing, as was First in Flight.

The Game has incredible flow and is very underrated as a lyricist. If you think an artist is automatically terrible just because he enjoys commercial success, then you don't know shit about hip-hop. Oh wait, you don't know shit about hip-hop!

    My immediate list would comprise:

    MF Doom/Viktor Vaughn
    Jay-Z
    Nas
    Black Thought
    Talib Kweli
    Phonte (from Little Brother)
    Common
    Ghostface
    The Game
    GZA/Genius

  8. Nas is the GOAT.

    AZ is up there.

They need to do a collabo again.

  9. Tupac
