See, here's the thing. Cyborg Superman and Superboy Prime?

Same thing. They serve the exact same role. Twice.

Cyborg has robot bits and looks neat. He wins.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if Kanto isn't maybe looking for some comics to get into as in right now, in terms of singles, as opposed to softcover collections - which can be pricer at a time (although cheaper when broken down) and a little more daunting when there's countless volumes you'd like to read. My bad if that's true.

Also I wanted to put more self-contained collections there, actually I had an idea of listing only self-contained collections by writers with longer works - ex. WE3 can lead to checking out more Quitely/Morrison in JLA Earth 2, New X-Men and All-Star Superman ... which can lead to checking out more high-quality related work like Justice (?), Astonishing X-Men, and so on - but I haven't read stuff like Pride of Baghdad yet, so I really couldn't recommend it although I am sure it is great (and will read for myself eventually).

Maybe a suggested list of:

Civil War (Millar/McNiven)
Green Lantern: Rebirth (Johns/EVS)
WE3 (Morrison/Quitely)
Pride of Baghdad (BKV)

might be better, who knows.

I'm looking for anything good, really. Either in trades or in ongoing series. It's just daunting to walk into a comic shop and try to figure out which books are good just by a quick flip through.

I'd suggest going to a Barnes & Noble*, buying a cup of coffee, and flipping through a stack of trades. Best method # 1!

Just don't be like the manga kiddies and horde all of the chairs in front of the bookshelf reading for hours on end while blocking the books from everyone else and never buying anything.
