Cool con haul!
Yeah, I could care less about the sigs, but the sketches even though minuscule and only a few minutes of time are really rad.
The only con I've ever been to in my life, I was there on Sunday afternoon at like 5:00 and it was empty. Bendis was just sitting around, I got to talk to the guy for like 30 minutes, he was really cool, totally unpretentious.
I'll admit, I'd rather meet Johns though. His JSA has been a big favourite of mine since he took it over. And if you met Tim Sale, that's amazing. I'm reading Dark Victory right now, and his game is off the charts. Is there a comic equivalent of mise en scene? Whatever it is, dude's a complete master. Use of framing, creating contrast through height and proportion, directing energy through line, panel balance, use of shadow without recycling visual cliches, I'd have so much to say to that guy. He's like the fucking Alfred Hitchcock of comics.

I've had Long Halloween for years, and enjoyed it a great deal, but for whatever reason have yet to buy/read Dark Victory. (Or any of the other Loeb/Sale works.) I will change that sometime soon.
I recently (and finally) read from cover to cover the Alias Omnibus by Bendis and Gaydos. It was okay to good, there was some fun parts. But now I can sell off my copy of the Alias Omnibus for some dough.![]()
Dark Victory makes me think killing off Two Face in Dark Knight was a shame. The book really drives home what an awesome foil he is for Batman, maybe even better than the Joker. Nolan/Goyer already pilfered liberally from Long Halloween for Dark Knight, there's a courtroom scene in DV that, though it would have had to have been handled a little differently, would have been awesome to see in a DK sequel.
