I second AirVideo. It just works, and amazingly at that. I wish there is a way to disable subtitles (at least I couldn't find a way to do it for certain file types).
If you're watching video at home, AirVideo is amazing. Transcodes and streams video on the fly from your PC over WiFi. I was lucky enough to grab VLC for iOS before they pulled it, so I can play just about anything on the device itself, but that doesn't help you much. If you have another app for playing avi, check in iTunes, Device > Apps > File Sharing. You should be able to drag files into the app there.
In other news, I downloaded a 1080p copy of Drive, and it's fucking crazy how good it looks on this screen. It's like a magic window to another world, sometimes.
Brian - Some of my faves: Aweditorium, Tweetbot, Alien Blue (if you visit reddit), AppShopper, AirVideo, DisplayPad. Don't even get me started on games.
Love this thing so hard. Such a huuuuuge leap over the first gen model.

I was at a store tonight to check one out and successfully resisted the temptation.
Anyone using iPhoto for iOS and been able to successfully upload a journal to iCloud?

For Dr. Cheeks.
I would like to take everyone on a journey to 2003, when vehicle head units did not come with iPod controls as standard. Does anyone have an FM transmitter to recommend me? There are a few thousand on Amazon. Just tell me which one sucks the least.
No 1/8" jack?
They all suck, Tones. You're better off with a tape deck adaptor. Click click click click
They do kinda suck, the sound quality drops noticeably and they lose whatever magic makes them work after a year or so. I had one that would hijack your shit from the backseat no problem but by the end of it's life I had to basically stand the ipod on it's head in the cupholder pointing at the radio to get a signal.
New ipod-friendly radio would probably run under $100. I should do that, too, I'm juggling CDs in my car like a fucking troglodyte.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
My Backloggery
I have a CD player that I never ever use. I just put on my iPhone and put it into a cup holder or the little tray by the door so it is a bit louder. If I'm on the highway, I shove it under my seatbelt strap so I can hear it. I really need to buy something with an 1/8 jack.
Fucking lady who bought this car didn't get ANY options. It's a 2007 and doesn't have the jack, heated seats, nothing. I'm glad the old cunt died.
