Yeah god forbid he displays something he likes. It's only a few things, it looks fine.
I would say that he should pull back the "toys" a bit more. Its a classy setup, and the toys aren't helping it out too much.
Just because you have a flat surface doesn't mean you have to put something on it. Personally, I'd keep the Mister Chef and the clock out, and put the others away.
