It set up basically everything for the season, I mean, I don't know what else they could have done that wouldn't have just been instant gratification.
Thing needs to last 10 episodes.
Game of Throne, like The Wire and other shows with big casts, rarely moves much in one episode because each character only gets like 4 minutes. It's only an issue because you have to wait a week for the next one.

A lot of time was spent recapping shit. That annoyed me.
Silicon Valley was pretty good.
I'm halfway through Silicon and it's good.
I am tired of Arya's jedi training. Sansa getting rescued was great though, and Theon growing a backbone again.
The show has ten hours to provide material within. I feel like that isn't a lot of time considering how dense the source material is.
I'm usually not one to bitch about pacing and set up. I'm pretty sure that if I were to look back a few pages in this thread I'd see me defending last season's slow build.
But that's the thing, there was a build. This episode was a lot of people standing around discussing what previously occured. The episode was already truncated due to the overly long "what happened previously" opening. In 45 minutes, there was about 5 minutes devoted to moving forward. That's ridiculous.
