This. The first few seasons were faithful because they were awesome books. Books 4 and 5 are both super long, go off on unrelated tangents for hundreds of pages, and well, they pretty much suck. I'm not sure what people expect from the show. But now I feel we are talking in circles.

  2. There is another reason this season is slow.

Book three... most of the end of season four, was the conclusion to those first three books.

GRRM planned to start the next segment five years into the future because every character's story was at a good jumping point. He scrapped that two years into writing it and just continued on from where book three ended. Even the best writer would have to start doing a lot of boring rebuilding.

The problem is, most of what he ends up building is directionless and doesn't progress the story, all while adding more and more aimless characters.
look here, upon a sig graveyard.

    I'm in.

Topless Dany shooting mother fuckers with an Uzi on a Dragon.

Edit: At the end of Terminator Gynysysysysys Sarah Connor and Ol Termie jump through a time gate and end up in Westeros.

  4. I don't think Emilia Clark is doing any more nude scenes for this show. Uzi Dragons are more likely, unfortunately.

  6. So if the target is Emilia Clark, and she is permanently face down.

ASS UP THAT'S THE WAY WE LIKE TO DO OUR TAXES.

  7. Now that was a damn good episode, aside from some dumb changes it was still the best this season by far. Dany is straight up turning into her father the Mad King, roasting fuckers alive. I was stoked they did a good job on Valyria and the stone men too, really nailed the atmosphere from the books. And Stannins The Mannis, finest grammar Nazi in all of Westeros.

It was funny watching this and then Mad Men. Don had several moments where he was correcting people.

Yup. Did you catch Aemon talking about a Targaryen alone in the world being a terrible thing, then the entry of Snuh? And if Mel is going to Winterfell with Stannis, guess who that leaves for the aftermath of "For the Watch," whatever its TV incarnation ends up being?

While I'm still worried about the Sansa/Winterfell stuff I'm still being surprised by the turns it's taking. GNC via Brienne to Sansa is interesting but I don't want to call it "good" yet.

I liked the look of Valyria, also. Of note to show-only people, it's a location we book readers have not seen. We've only heard about it. Glad that JonCon->Jorah happened.

Stannis' callback to correcting Davos' grammar was awesome.

Grey Worm and Missandei is still ugh. Not sure about the Hizdahr situation and Dany being the one to propose marriage. Olly … ugh, I get it but still. Super worried about Shireen.

I could've sworn in the books, both Jon Connington and Tyrion get infected with greyscale. Is that correct or not?
