Yeah, Sam's scene was very unlike any other scene in this series.

I didn't mind it because I could tell they were going for a song, and it has to be an homage to something I'm just not recalling at the moment. Plus, it lead into him sneaking into the restricted section and giving us Chekhov's Subtle Reminder.
I loved the pacing. They really took time to set everything up, and hopefully the next six episodes run quickly. It was nice to see some season 1 pacing, though, even if it is just for one episode.
Fun start to the series, there were a lot of great moments. It was actually pretty shocking/relieving to see Arya smile and laugh. She's been shit on for so long I can't remember the last time she did that. Props to Daenerys' tailor, her dress/suit costume was on point.
