  1. The first 5 books took 60 epiodes, an averge of 12 episodes per book. The last two books are being presented in 13 episodes, or 6.5 episodes per book. Of course it feels rushed, its literally moving through plot points in half the time.

    Like, that certain characters die or do things isn't odd. It's the development to make those things feel natural that's missing and that's 100% on the shorter seasons which are 100% because GRRM hasn't finished the books and DnD are going off of essentially a powerpoint presentation on what happened. The first 6 seasons were based on books, the last two are based on ASOIAF for Dummies.

    Of course only one dragon is left by the battle at Kingslanding, but I doubt in the books it's gonna be because an arrow killed it from a mile away, but the Dragonbinder isn't in the show and DnD are idiots who couldn't think up a better way to explain it dying. Of course Danny is going to go full mad Queen, but that will happen over hundred's of pages, not 10 minutes of screen time.

    As for the show, take some scenes out of order & rework a little:

    - Ep 2, Jaime & Brienne hook up
    - Ep 3, Dany really sees the sacrifice of her troops, how much she loses, etc. & Missandei is killed by White Walkers
    - Ep 3, Brienne is also killed by White Walkers
    - Ep 4, Jon blurts his heritage out instead of the secret crap, everyone wants him instead of Dany
    - Ep 4, Dany realizes nobody will feel about her the way people feel about Jon
    - Ep 4, After losing Brienne, Jaime realizes that the world sucks and being good is dumb, goes back to KL
    - Ep 4, Dany takes out Iron Fleet with both dragons after they clip Rhaegal but don't kill him
    - Ep 5, Dany and two dragons go nuts on King's Landing, but maybe don't destroy all the stuff because...
    - Ep 5, The bells toll & Dany is about to stick to the plan when one of the non-destroyed ballistas takes out Rhaegal

    Same amount of time.

    Your math is all wrong on this because you have the books and the seasons wrong.

    Part of the problem isn't just that GRRM isn't finished with the series... it's that after the first three books the series is awful. So the next book and a half spiral off into dogshit and the show writers try to mend passing over interesting character and adding tons of useless ones.

  5. I've seen other people suggest that the second dragon die after the bells and that's an A+ season saving idea. Danny goes crazy but we understand that after everything else, that's just what sends her over the edge.

    Here is the real math:
    First three books got four full 10 episode seasons.
    13.3 episodes per book.

    Next "two books" (the other books released in the series) are really a book and a half of content and is represented mostly by a full ten episode season five.
    Five episodes per "book"

    The majority of the next three seasons take place after the fifth book. So if there end up being two more books, they would be represented by 23 episode.

  10. Yup. All they had to do was have both dragons sitting there watching the city while the bell was ringing and someone (Euron) maybe shoots one during the cease fire. Dany goes full mad then.

    edit- had I read through the last few posts, Call mentioned the same thing.
