The creator of the Last Unicorn, Peter Beagle, is suing his ex-manager Connor Cochran for elder abuse. In late 2015, Connor became the focus of numerous lawsuits for financial fraud, cheating fans, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from movie investors and Peter, and even physically abusing Peter.

Connor lied to all of the fans when he ended The Last Unicorn Tour. The truth is that he ended the tour because Peter hired a lawyer to investigate the fraud. So Connor tried to cover it up by lying that Peter had "memory problems". But Peter is in excellent health for age 77, and currently appearing at conventions and promoting his new book that's coming out.

This is NOT the story that Connor told so many times about "saving" Peter from cheating by others in the past. He used that to entice everyone to trust him and give him money. In the words of Peter's support site, he "systematically used that trust to appropriate Peter’s life’s work for himself and destroy Peter’s reputation for his own personal gain."

Connor sold the story of "saving" Peter with a goal to seize the Last Unicorn movie rights and take $125 million from investors for a remake. His story was full of manipulation. Now Peter is in the fight of his life to sue Cochran for his own rights back. Cochran continues to tour the movie for his own profit, and sell Peter's work without permission to squeeze money out of fans. He's milking everyone to pay his own lawyers and retaliate against Peter in court. Fans should be told: DO NOT pay for anything that profits Peter's abuser!

Fans are being kept in the dark about this. If you post about it to the The Last Unicorn facebook page with 195,000 followers, your comment will be deleted and you'll be banned. There is some media coverage by Vice and many blogs.
