Iron Chic - Not Like This.

The bartender at my local bar and I do record exchanges to try to expand our horizons. He loaned me this one, along with a few others. I played with these dudes before (Insub fest maybe?), and dug them enough to pick up a 7", but this record is something. It gets into bro-core a little bit, but not enough to turn me off of it. Almost every song on this record sounds like it should be the last song on the record, impressive. I don't think I like where pop punk is heading, but this is an enjoyable stop along the way. Recommended.

I look forward to checking out their other stuff.

I don't hear Weezer at all. This band is amazing, because it takes everything I don't like about a couple different genres and combines it into something I really don't like at all. I guess that isn't amazing, just unfortunate.

But hey, I listened.
