Dude, they're so rad! October of 2012 had a week and half where I saw a kickass show every night, including such luminaries as Mose Giganticus, Skeletonwitch, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Black Tusk, the Protomen, and more. But the Off! show was the best by far, and the only band that had a better set was the opener. Who was none other than Negative Approach!

A semi-recent conversation I had reminded me of this band. Vanilla Fudge is one of the best bands from the 60's that you probably don't listen to, but totally should. Check out that stack of speakers! Check out that drummer spinning his drumsticks between every cymbal hit. Check out that keyboard player that looks exactly like my 3rd grade teacher. Everyone in this band slays.
Lets talk about making someone else's song your own. Not a lot of bands can pull that off.

I went thrifting today and instead of flipping right past the classical collection cds, I looked at a few and decided on a Wagner selection. I've been listening to it all day as I drive around.
I am getting so old.
(My chick said, "this reminds me of the movie with the guy and the girl and he's going to blow up the train." Took me forever to figure out she was talking about V for Vendetta. I dont know why I'm with this woman.)
I absolutely LOVE her description of that movie, and will be using it from now on.
