Thread: What Are You Listening to? Part 2

  1. The video is definitely ripping off Tim and Eric, and they were ripping off Channel 101.

  2. art for artists

  3. Pretty much. His Drunk album had Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins approaching him to put in a guest spot on a track. Weird is attractive to folks who make stuff, it's what stands out.

Perhaps, but weird for the sake of weird is pretty lame.

  5. Is it? Maybe if that's somebody's entire schtick, I think that's the premise of that 5k Music Video show the above video is from.

Musically I think the guy does fine, if bit further down on the Zappa spectrum than most folks are going to want to deal with. Dude joined Suicidal Tendencies at age 16 as a replacement bassist.

  6. Someone added crowd noise to a bunch of KLF songs to make a pretend concert. Sounds pretty good!

I know about the guy, I just don't dig on his stuff. I also don't like Zappa.

I also define art strangely. I think that "Dudes Room" by Too Many Daves is the very definition of high art.

  8. Well, you are perpetually high.

  9. What is this, Canadian Rock?

  10. Thoughts on this album?
