    Nope!

My PC is from 2002, I don't have a 360 and it's not that hard to plug in an older console and enjoy it the way it was played in the day.

You don't need a 360 to have a controller for it. You also don't need a new PC to plug it into a VGA port in a TV.

My 2 Sony Wega HD CRTs don't have VGA ports, so unless I have a video card that supports HDMI/S-video, that isn't really an option.

Still, there's nothing wrong with playing a game on the console instead.

if you have an ATI card, ati makes a component adaptor for many of them. Also you can go and get a VGA - DVI adaptor and then DVI to HDMI cable

My tv accepts VGA so my HTPC is hooked up through that.

I've lost gamesaves pretty often in SNES games, and getting some of my NES carts to work is a joke half the time. My Genesis doesn't output in RGB, and I can't play Thunderforce with my joystick on it. PSX games look pretty good in higher resolutions.

Really, if I can emulate a game perfectly, I'm probably not going to play it on its original platform these days.

  10. Yup, I hook up my HTPC with DVI -> HDMI cable (Radeon card). Works well, no complaints here.
