From Games Are Fun:Xbox Live to include Phantasy Star Online
Microsoft announced their plans for Xbox Live in Japan yesterday, and here's a rundown of what to expect.
The Xbox Live Starter Kit will hit Japanese retailers this fall. The plug-and-play "Xbox Live" package will include a voice communication headset and Phantasy Star Online for the Xbox, as well as cover the first 12 months of service, for 6,800 yen, or approximately $55.
Microsoft went on to add that Xbox Live is in the final stages of development and should be ready for testing in Japan later this month. The company is dedicated to making online gaming a success on consoles, and they have invested over $2 billion on the Xbox's network.

They SO need to do that over here! I bought PSO when it was first released for DC, just bought ver. 2 new (nice and cheap) a couple hours ago, and plan on buying it for GC. The XBox version I hadn't planned on buying at all (the GC keyboard helps, as well people I know who are guarenteed getting the GC version for me to play with, but I know no one for the XBox), but I'd love another copy for another system, especially if they use voice.

That's great! And here I thought the pack-in game was dead. I've had about enough of the DC version, though. NBA 2K3 would make a far more appealing addition...

...maybe (and this would be cool) you can choose from the lauching online games! Maybe... but probably not... now that you mention it - I belive I heard something about Re-Volt online.

Crap, I'll be extremely happy if there's a pack in game in America, preferably Halo Online or Unreal ChampionshipI doubt it though, it's probably just in Japan since PSO is already popular there and MS needs a clincher to get people online.

i've read from most sources that it's Revolt... but i've also heard people say it's Unreal Championship...
... my guess is Revolt (damn... we sure get screwed... although Revolt aint bad, it's no PSO)
