Nice shots Drew. Love the fireworks shot. I've always wanted to try that out.

I'm in Colorado right now. Was looking for a place to live here, but decided to stay where I am and save up more money. Haven't had too many chances to take photos, but I've gotten a few nice ones. Internet here is slow as balls, so I'm having some trouble uploading them, but I'll try one at a time.

Drew, you should post more photos. The fireworks shot is great. I would've shopped out the white dot in the upper-right and the stray streak on the left. I dig the natural vignette effect from the clouds in the upper corners and trees on the lower. The chipmunk shot looks like it's from a wide-angle X-games camera--did he grind a massive rail right after? I want that shot. The balance in the storm shot is nice.

I'm not a huge fan of photoshopping natural-style images. It probably would take me 30 seconds to clone out those sparks but that wasn't a part of the moment so I'd rather not. If these were commercial shots I'd go ahead and do it without hesitation.

Posted this in the Life is Good thread, cause it should be an awesome experience. Thought others here might be interested. http://www.outsideworkshops.com/ is a photography workshop in Santa Fe hosted by Outside Magazine. If you have the time, the money, and the interest, it could be a really awesome experience. I registered last night and was officially accepted today. Hopefully should learn a lot from it and gain some great experience, and possibly even a position at Outside Magazine if things go well enough.

I'd definitely be up for a photography class one of these days. Probably not in Santa Fe, though.

I just got back from riding my bike to Seattle and back, took a bunch of photos for my blog that I've got to comb through. Here's one of my early favorites.

That is an incredible shot. The composition is near perfect, the reflection in the water is awesome, and the difference between the blue of the water and bike actually works out perfectly. Great job. You did a great job with this shot. Where is that????

Thank you! It's Crater Lake in Oregon. The most stunning thing I've seen in my life. I've got some more pictures I'll post eventually, including a couple of panoramas.

Speaking of panoramas, got any tips for software to use for patching them together? Photoshop CS2's Photomerge did it terribly. I manually patched the pictures together pretty easily and it looks mostly good but there's vignetting in each frame (had my 17-85 as wide as it could get) that shows up in the panorama. I can work it out but what I'm doing isn't uber-clean.
