I think I like the white balance of the second one better.
I quite enjoy the cello player. What's your setup for those low light situations?
Also, this is fucking impressive.

Yes, you read that correctly. The fevered dreams of crime scene investigators up and down the country are being brought to reality by Adobe, with just a single extra lens and some crafty software knowhow. Basically, a plenoptic lens is composed of a litany of tiny "sub-lenses," which allow those precious photons you're capturing to be recorded from multiple perspectives. The result is that you get a bunch more data in your image and an "infinite" depth of field, meaning you can toggle at what distance you want your image to be focused after the act of taking it. These plenoptic lenses are inserted between your shooter's usual lens and its sensor, though commercialization is sadly said to still be a fair distance away. Never fear, you can get hold of a video demo much sooner than that -- you know where it's at.
It depends on the lighting at the show. The more crazy the lighting is, the harder it is to get a good exposure. I started shooting at 3200 ISO, but realized I could go down to 1600 ISO about halfway though. I was trying out different metering modes, but the auto metering was hit or miss. It's so hard to find a good midtone in the various lighting that you also want to be your focus point. Even when telling the camera to over or underexpose when using metering, it was hard to get that perfect exposure. I finally gave up and just went full auto. The lighting wasn't too crazy and I was able to find the right exposure pretty easily. When in aperture priority and full auto, I shot at f/2.8 and spot point focus.
That does sound really cool. I still need to watch the video, but I can't begin to imagine the possibilities. That would make macro photography amazing.

Saw this house earlier in the year while on a bike ride. Went back last week to take a few pics.
The skull is a bottle of Skull Vodka I bought last Christmas. Somehow it never got opened, and here it is lit by a single candle. Very little post processing, I'm shocked the g9 was able to to this with such little light.
You know this already, but I really like the house shot. Great composition and good job with the exposure.
