  1. JTEC to offer full travel packages tothe Tokyo Game Show

"E3 may be the biggest show around these days, but would-be attendees have woefully restricted access to the trade event. The Tokyo Game Show is a very close second, and allows visitors to the show, but it's an entire continent away. What's a gamer who wants access to the latest games to do? JTEC might have the answer.

The Japan Technical Events Consortium is one of TGS' promoters, and they've come up with a novel way to fix the flagging attendance at the show: bring in American fans. JTEC is now offering full travel packages to those interested in going to the Autumn 2002 TGS, taking care of the flight over, accomodations, and transportation to the Makuhari Messe convention center. The trip lasts for six days, beginning on September 18th and returning on the 23rd. The full package will run for $1290, so those interested had better start saving now."

I think its a great idea! Hopefully they will be offering this next year, moving and starting school this fall I am. Go I cannot. English from Yoda learned, bad.

  2. $1290 seems kinda high for a six day trip. I rather spend a month over in Japan and have the TGS fall in between.

  3. This is the second year that they're doing this. I almost went last year, but I was taking classes and couldn't. Maybe this year...

$1290 is a bit expensive. I went to Japan last Summer for two weeks for $2000...this included room and board, meals, and transportation.

But do not mess with his vacation.

  4. It seems high? My friends were trying to figure out how much it would cost them for a similer trip to Japan. It seemed to be alot higher than that. I dunno, I'll have to look into it.

  5. Tokyo is a pretty expensive place to go for a holiday like. I went around every travel agent in my area last year and not one of them did a package deal. I ended up having to arrange the flights and hotel separately. The hotel I went to was expensive but I thought you're not gonna go all that way to stay in a capsule without a view, you gotta stay somewhere classy. Gonna go back there this year armed with a huge "must buy" list

    Maybe next year...
