Other than that it was a waste of 44 minutes. We already knew there was a list. The flash sideways are just filler because they don't have as many answers as we want.....and what else happened?     From what the producers have been saying the "timelines" will merge about 8 episodes in. From this we can assume the flash sideways, or what happens in them will be moot and if they're moot then they've been wasting all this time on fan service. A bunch of "what if" because then they only have to write answers for 2/3 of the episodes now.

  3. Yeah, the flash sideways really feel like worthless filler. It's like the writers said, well how can we make the show if we don't flashback of flashforward. They're doing nothing at all for the story.

    Nope, this is my first episode. I am very confused!

    I still think the bomb did not cause the reset, and all the alternate universe bullshit we are watching will take place after the final episode's island happenings.

    Like a issue of WHAT IF: The Plane Never Crashed! Where we follow Locke around and he meets every key character in some random-ass situation.

    I've always assumed it never caused a reset, it merely put them in the year they were supposed to be. The flash sideways shit, to me, seems like a case of "what if." They're only appeasing the people that have always wondered what if the plane never crashed. But it did and this stuff is pointless.

    Never did I say the shit that went down advanced the story, I just said shit went down.

    I don't get all the hate for the flash sideways. We don't know for sure what it is or how important it is. We just know if the plane didn't crash, it's what would've happened. I'm sure it'll play an important role rather than just being a filler or a big "what if."

    I didn't get a chance to watch it but Michael Emerson (Ben) was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and I read that according to Emerson all the alternate timeline stuff plays into the final storyline.

    No, there are key differences to the characters even before they boarded that plane. It's a totally alternate universe where Hugo won the lottery and has good luck instead of bad; where Boone couldn't bring his slutbag sister home for incest times; where Locke is still banging Peggy, etc.

    Also, on top of everything else being different, the plane doesn't crash.

    I thought the last season would be balls out answers and action, and it's not. There have been close to 3 out of 4 filler episodes already.
