You're right. It's ABC's fault that they, like everyone else, thought that these guys would attempt to do their jobs. It was stupid to think that they would hit the ground running after years of stalling and filler being blamed on the fact that they had no or were nowhere near the end date. The ad wizards who designed the campaign were clearly out of line to assume that things would finally be happening on Lost.
