Who's up for Left 4 Dead 2 or PAYDAY tonight? Both have new content!

  3. So all we have to do is mildy raz a member who fully deserves it to get Nick out of the bunker he has locked himself away in? Good to know.

Ran through the L4D2 content with Myk and Ninjas last night, lackluster to say the least.

  5. I tried Path of Exile, it's basically an action RPG for all the old Diablo 2 nerds.

It seems to succeed on that front - tons of randomly generated crap, a tiny inventory grid, inventory Tetris, this stupidly gigantic passive skill tree* (active skills are based on gems which you put into weapon slots, which also level up), and most importantly, a chat room full of old Diablo 2 nerds griping about Diablo 3.

Its really ugly (character designs are hideous, world is bland) but seems to scratch that itch. People who don't like Diablo 3 should find it more to their liking. It will be free to play when it comes out. I might just roll a character and play it a little.

A Blizzard exec doesn't think very highly of Windows 8 either.

  7. By the logic of the Gabe Newell Sucks crowd, it's obvious that the Windows closed marketplace means Diablo 3's auction house is... um.. invalid? Remember, it's all self-interest all the time, and never because Win8 is a steaming turd pile.

  8. Gabe Newell doesn't suck, he's looking out for his own service. Yes, he is self-interested. Gamers seem to forget that he is a businessman.

I really see no indication that Windows 8 is a steaming turd pile.

At this point I think they only have 1 person working on the game. All those maps were available in beta for a year. Valve makes Blizzard look like they release games at a record pace. I don't understand what Valve does during the week. Keep the steam servers running I guess.
