I like how not a single screenshot of that game on its Steam page is from actual gameplay. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the CoD F2P clone crown is already taken by Blacklight: Retribution.
There are too many F2P games. It's a bubble in the making. People will only spend money on F2P games they are committed to, as opposed to buying a box upfront. People can't be committed to that many games.
On the Ubi thing, I bought Splinter Cell Conviction but haven't installed it yet...
"Too many" F2P games isn't really the problem. The problem is that most of them are horrible and rely strongly on operant condititioning.
When you game of DOTA2's calibur (or even The Old Republic, really) going F2P - it exposes all the other F2P games for the shams they are. In a few years, the entire F2P market will be three or four really huge games.
You'll be fine if you install now. The plugins will work as they should. You can also do what I did and manually disable the plugin your browsers because fuck Ubisoft.
I hope so. Tribes isn't as friendly as DOTA2 or TF2 but it's far better than most other F2P games.

I would have pre-ordered after those vids if it wasn't $35. A little too rich for online only game.

Countdown to the de facto end of the console generation: 5 exclusives
Most recent: Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut (4/30)
Next up: The Last of Us (6/11)
Later: Puppeteer (9/10), Beyond: Two Souls (10/18), Rain (TBA), Until Dawn (TBA)
I had way too much fun with the original Half-Life mod, easily one of the most interesting multiplayer experiences at the time. Don't know I'll drop $35 on the sequel it but I'm considering it.
