No, actually all his shit is on his hard drive. Steam just supplies the DRM and a handy organizational tool all in one. I'm not holding it against him if that's good enough, but I think in terms of folders and directories rather than Steam lists.

If I get a new PC or need to format my drive or whatever, Steam will automatically install every game I own. It's a one-stop shop. I even plan to replace my retail copies once they go crazy on sale on Steam.

Heh. When I upgraded my PC I think I reinstalled maybe 4 games from the old drive.
