I didn't mind it. The jabberwocky is the only really challenging part.

I remember falling off a cliff would instant respawn you somewhere without any indication that something bad had happened, like it happened so fast it was a little weird and disorienting like what, I fell? Is that why I'm here now?

The game was alright, I got it for like $10 years and years ago and never finished.

Congratulations, you just bought some of the worst PC ports of all time. And some of the few Steam games which are incompatible with the most useful mods.

So far I've played 1 and 2 (just as I remember them) and 3 seems to play pretty damn well with mouselook and even the arrow keys for driving. It's widescreen and runs at my monitor's native resolution. I'll try Vice City and San Andreas later to complain about them if something is wrong.

4 I assume I can just use my wired 360 controller and play the same as on the console.

GTA4 does support the 360 controller, so you're good to go. Most of the mods work with this version now if you care. Go to its steam forum page to find out how to set them up, but personally I didn't feel they were needed.

I barely have time to play through the retail games I purchase, let alone try out every bullshit patch some jackass makes in his parents' basement. I'm cool with playing the vanilla game.

I own it for the 360 as well, but my new PC is a beast and the full game plus all DLC for $9.99 is an amazing deal.
